Charles James Kirk (known as Charlie Kirk), was shot and killed today, murdered, while speaking at his event in Utah. He was only 31, and leaves behind his wife Erika and two very small children.
To so many, he was a leader, an encouragement, and a voice. He founded Turning Point USA at 18 years old, and was continually strong in his conservative, Christian beliefs, defending and explaining them to any and everyone who would listen.
As President Trump said himself, Charlie was instrumental in the 2024 election, and many say he singlehandedly turned the vote of the youth in America from Democrat to Republican.
Most relevant to my blog, of course, was his fight for and protection of the unborn. He easily laid out pro-life arguments in a very clear way, and was not only able to debate, but to change hearts and minds. He had an answer to every question, always defended the babies, but with compassion for those who were asking the questions, and for the mothers in the situations they were describing.

No matter what he was debating, he always did it well, with true empathy for those he was talking to.
His loss will be heavily, heavily felt throughout the world, but especially to those who appreciated him and his beliefs, his activism, and his heart.
Please join me in praying for his wife Erika, and their two children, as well as his other family and friends. This is the hardest day of their lives.
Please also pray that revival and turning back to God will start to happen throughout the whole world - this is just another effect of a broken world with its heart hardened to their Creator.
As 1 John 4:4 reminds us, "Greater is He that is in you than he who is in the world." This is where our hope lies, and where Charlie's hope was too. He is now experiencing, in Heaven, what we cannot ever hope to imagine here on earth.

So well said, Sarah. I don't think we'll ever receive the answer of why Charlie was taken home so soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Madi. No, I don't think so either, but we know our God works all things for good. I'm praying this will be used to bring people to Him.
